On the Move!

Dylan started rolling over in Arkansas and now she is like a little roly poly...Every time she is on her back she rolls to her front, but she doesn't know how to get back yet so she cries...Bless her heart...What a big girl though! :)

Friends

Dylan's Aunt Whitney moved to Austin last week...We are all excited! Cody went to Nebraska for the football game and so we got to spend her first weekend in town having girl time with Aunt Whit and her mom Lisa, who loved Dylan :)
Of course we started the weekend off meeting Mr. Dylan, her boyfriend, for a drink of milk and then Cody's cousin, Ryan, came over to meet her...He and his wife are expecting a boy in December...It will be great for them to grow up together.
On Monday we met Megan and Halladay at the Austin Children's Museum for some Hokey Pokey and learning games...ha...The girls had fun.
We also went to lunch w/ Jennifer and Finley, Kristi and Molly and Daddy a couple times :)...She is such a "Lunching Lady."

Back to my Roots

We were sad to have to leave the beautiful lake in Hot Springs, but we were excited for Dylan to meet all of her Great Aunts, Uncles, cousins and 2nd cousins. We stopped on the cool side at the Sonic and got Grandmom a Strawberry milkshake and we got a coke. When we got to the house Uncle Tommy, or Uncle Brat as I call him, was there to meet us. He swept Dylan right up and visited with her on the couch. When Cathy got home she was excited to see the baby and wanted to know if Tommy had officially dubbed her "Baby Brat" yet. But, he said he wanted to call her "Brat Brat" instead. I think I graduated from "T-H-E Brat" to TMBM(The Most Beautiful Melissa), so maybe in a couple years when he sees how pretty Dylan is going to be she will get a new nickname :)

My sweet cousin, Cissy, and her precious youngest son Jonah came over on a special trip from Camden and we were so happy to see them. We all went out to visit GG and Carole Lee came with us. GG was excited and surprised to see everyone.

On Tuesday morning I woke up around 5:45 with the baby and went out to visit with Cathy. Good thing I did because Cathy taught Dylan to roll over! She had done it a few times, but could not figure out how to get her little arm pulled out once she got her body turned over. But, with a little encouragement Cathy got her to do it. It is funny because when I was a baby my parents left me in Arkansas and my Aunt Cathy taught me how to walk and when they picked me up I walked over to them for the first time. So, I guess I will have to take her back up there when it is time to walk. :)

We made it all the way back to Houston without a hitch. She was a perfect angel in the car. Her first trip to Arkansas was a great one, but I'm not sure daddy appreciates her Arkansas PJ's and her Lolli teaching her the fight song! :)

I'm flying!

So, we hopped on a flight from Dallas to Little Rock so Dylan could explore her Arkansas roots. It was her GG(Great-Grans) 91st birthday and she couldn't miss that. She was a perfect angel on the plane. Luckily daddy walked us to the gate because I almost forgot the base of the car seat and he had to run back to the car. And I also didn't bring her ID or shot records so she almost didn't get to fly! But, we made it on the plane and Dylan took a nap in her baby bjorn on me for about the first 30 minutes. All the stuardesses had to stop to tell us how cute we were :)...When we got to Little Rock, Lolli and Uncle David picked us up and we headed to Hot Springs to see GG and Aunt Robin. We tried to have a photo shoot by the lake, but I'm not sure we are ready to pose just yet...we need a neck first, but we got a few keepers :) Then it was off to Warren to meet the rest of the Arkansas crew!

We didn't win, but I looked cute :)

So, Dylan proved yet again to fall short in the luck charm catagory when it comes to the Longhorns this year. BUT, she looked really cute, was a very good girl at the tailgate and got passed around to all the girls :) She and Minnie started off taking a long nap in the truck getting their beauty rest before they made their debut. Once Dylan's Aunt Sarah got there she scooped her right out of that truck and then it was party time! Everyone thought they were the cutest cousins ever! After the tailgate mommy and daddy went to the game and Dylan went home w/ Minnie, Stephen and Monica. From what I heard she took a nap with Merrill and accidentally had a poopy accident w/ Aunt Gresh...oops! But all in all was a good girl.

We missed her a lot while we were out and couldn't wait to get home and see her! On Sunday it was off to Arkansas to visit GG for her 91st birthday!
